Privacy Policy — QueryScope

QueryScope is a Chrome extension that captures the fan-out web-search queries and cited sources that ChatGPT generates in your own browser session, and presents them to you. This policy explains how it handles data.

Data we handle

When you use ChatGPT with web search enabled, the extension reads along with the responses of your own session and extracts:

• the fan-out search queries ChatGPT ran;
• the URLs and titles of the sources it cited;
• the text of the question that triggered each search (the "seed prompt");
• an optional website domain you can enter yourself in the Insights tab.

Where the data goes

Nowhere. All of the above is stored only on your own device using Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local), capped at the 200 most recent sessions. The extension:

• does not send any data to us or to any third party;
• does not use any server, account, or API key;
• makes no outbound network requests of its own;
• does not track you, and does not send prompts or messages to ChatGPT.

The only website the extension has access to is chatgpt.com. Any CSV files you export are generated locally and saved by your browser; they are not transmitted anywhere.

Data deletion

You are in full control. You can delete individual sessions or clear everything from the Sessions tab. Removing the extension deletes all stored data along with it.
